The beach of Glyfada is one of the most beautiful Corfu beaches, a long sandy area in western Corfu with a hill full of olives and cypress trees to the south, overlooking the sea to Italy.
On the beach there is a large hotel, as well as many villas and apartments on the hillside. It is definitely a place for the lovers of the clean beach, as there is no village, although the villages of Pelekas and Vatos are very close.
Buses from here go to Corfu Town, passing through Aqualand, the largest water park on the island, as well as near the golf course in the Ropa plain.
In Glyfada during the day, families are crowded, enjoying the sand, the sun, and perhaps a meal at one of its taverns, but as the sun sinks behind the horizon the younger generations fill the bars and prepare for an overnight party.
