The exotic beach is located in the northern side of the island, 7.5 km from Limenas, the capital of Thassos. Saliara or Marble beach as it is called by tourists is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Its name derives from the marble factory located above the beach. Its main feature is the unique, white pebbles and the clear blue waters. It is surrounded by rocks covered with dense vegetation which along with the white pebbles and the crystal-clear sea waters compose a magnificent landscape. The sea deepens gradually, making it ideal for families with young kids, while the seabed is suitable for snorkeling.
The exotic landscape has made the beach very popular, attracting many visitors, but also many sailing boats moor off the beach. It is organized with sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar.
The beach can be reached via a dirt road, about four kilometers long starting right next of the entrance of the Makryammos hotel, on the road to Makryammos. At the end of the road, there is a parking area. Alternatively, you can take one of the excursion boats that perform daily cruises leaving from the port of Thassos and Limenaria.
