Lichnos beach is one of the most beautiful and beloved beaches of Parga, situated 3 kilometers east of the city. The 1300 meters long sandy beach lies in a natural sheltered bay with medium depth waters, surrounded by a green landscape. Due to its orientation the waters are usually calm, ideal for swimming. The coast is covered with sand and pebbles and the beach impresses with its crystal-clear, blue waters. The main features are the two steep rocky slopes that rise vertically at both ends of the beach with the rocks creating caves and peculiar formations. The magnificent scenery which successfully combines the green of the olive groves with the blue of the water, makes it one among tourists’ most favorite beaches.
On the beach there are two small sea caves ideal for snorkeling. At a distance of about 5 minutes is the cave of Aphrodite, which according to mythology, was the place where the goddess Aphrodite, used to swim. The cave can be visited by water bicycle.
Lichnos is fully equipped with sun loungers, parasols, beach bars and it offers a variety of water sports. In the surrounding area there are plenty of hotels, studios, rooms to rent, restaurants, tavernas and mini markets. It can be reached easily via the Igoumenitsa – Preveza National Road or by boat from the port of Parga. If you drive from Preveza or Igoumenitsa to Parga, after passing the village of Agia Kyriaki, and before the entrance to the town there are signs for the beach of Lichnos which point to the left. For hiking lovers, Lichnos offers a pictorial path inside the Venetian olive grove where the trees age over 500 years old.
