Koviou beach is one of the most beautiful though not so well-known beaches of Halkidiki. It lies in a small bay, between Agios Ioannis and Kalogria, about 6 km south of Nikiti and is surrounded by small hills with low vegetation and some pine trees. It is a relaxing beach, not too much crowded, as most holidaymakers prefer the nearby beaches of Kalogria and Agios Ioannis. The coast is covered with fine, white sand and the sea has crystal-clear, warm, blue waters. It deepens smoothly, making it ideal for young children. Along the shore to either end of the beach is a good place for snorkeling.
The beach is partly organized with parasols and sun loungers but there is plenty of free space to enjoy the beach on your own, setting your equipment. There is a small parking lot above the beach but during the high summer season it might be difficult to find parking space so, you’d better visit the beach early in the morning. It features a splendid sunset and is worth staying till late in the afternoon to enjoy it. It is one of the beaches of Sithonia that deserve to be visited.
