Agios Mercourios is an extension of Mourteri beach and is situated near the village of the same name in southern Euboea. At one edge there is a rock known as “Kefala (Head)” due to its shape, which resembles to a human head looking towards the sea. Like most beaches in this area, it is exposed to the north winds, so when such winds blow, the sea can be very rough, and swimming may not be very safe especially for young children. It is a long beach with gravel and sand in the sea.
Agios Mercourios it has crystal clear, blue waters that deepens fast. There is an organized part at the beginning of the beach with a beach bar, showers, parasols and sunbeds. The rest of the coast is free and you can always find free space to lay your towel. There are no trees to offer natural shade but you can find some shade near the big rock on certain hours of the day.
The beautiful beach Agios Mercourios is 76 km from Chalkida. Head towards Avlonari, in southern Euboea and from there follow the sign to Mourteri beach. The coastal road on the right side of the beach will lead you to the beach of Agios Merkourion in just a few minutes.
